From the jazz clubs of the Northeast to the Grand-Ole Opry in Nashville, to B.B King’s Blues club and The Legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, John D’Amato has been performing and teaching for over 30 years. John has performed with such notable musicians as B.B. King, Billy Cox, Eric Gales and Joe Louis Walker to name a few. John’s extensive knowledge and experience in both performing and teaching all styles of music are available to students of all ages and levels. John was the first contemporary guitarist admitted to the Educational Center For The Arts (one of the first performing arts high schools in the country) and was trained at the college level in guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, banjo in addition to music theory and song construction. Upon graduation John was offered a teaching position at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston. John declined that position to pursue performing and songwriting. John’s lessons are fun and informative and are structured to suit the individual learning style of each student. John continues to perform in the blues genre and has just completed his second solo CD “Born Blue-The Sun Sessions”. The CD was recorded at the Legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, where artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, B.B. King and many others have recorded.
