John D'Amato is everything you’d want in a guitar teacher. Patience, passion, experience, enjoyment, and a real knack to share his craft. We are blessed to have him teaching the kids.
John is not only astonishing on the guitar, he's also a wonderful teacher for any age.
John is an excellent teacher!! He is able to take his decades of experience and distill it into a fun and valuable experience! I would recommend John to anyone!!
From a parent perspective:
My children thrived at the piano with Ms. Lauren. She takes the time to get to know each child and find out what their interests are and then weaves those interests into each lesson. It doesn't matter if they love theory activities, composing their own songs, singing while playing, or a little bit of everything she is up for it.
From an older student's perspective:
I started lessons with Lauren recently with no piano experience as a 51 year old and love my lessons. Lauren introduces new information easily and pushes you in a kind way to challenge yourself. She brings years of experience, so she brings lots of strategies to each lesson. I've always wanted to play piano and love the joy I find at each lesson.
I came to D'Amato Music School knowing basic chords, but with no idea of how to put them together, or do anything with them. John listened to where I wanted to be, and is taking me there step by step. He's very responsive to your desires, but will definitely bring his expertise into the lessons. I can't tell you how many times I've asked "But why does...?" only to have that "Aha!" moment a couple weeks down the road.
My Daughter is absolutely loving the lessons and can’t speak highly enough about Josh. He’s a great teacher and has inspired her to practice more and she is so excited about learning new things. His words of encouragement are especially helpful in keeping her motivated.
